Who Are We?

1st Connah's Quay Explorer Scouts.

We meet with the Scouts every Friday night between
7pm and 9pm. We also meet occasionally on Wednesday nights.

Explorer Scouts are aged from 14 to 18 years of age.

What do Explorers do?

Explorer Scouts are able to decide, along with the rest of the Unit, what they want to do - whether it is socialising, hiking, sports or camping. The dccisions lie firmly in the hands of the Explorers themselves however they do receive guidance from Leaders in the group.

The Explorers have recently been working very hard on a project to gain information about Scouting in Connahs Quay through the last 100 years and a book was published this year.

They are also able to gain badges in Explorers and all of the Unit have recently signed up to the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme. All of our Explorers are enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable individuals who have generally moved up through the sections.

Is there a uniform?

Yes! Scouting is a uniformed organisation and Explorers are no different.

The Explorer Scout uniform consists of:-beige long sleeve or short sleeve shirt; Group scarf; navy blue activity trousers if possible; Scout belt / Explorer Belt and buckle.

The Explorer Scouts have the same promise and Law as the Scouts.
